Percussion in Bartok 

Bela Bartok's music has always held an interest for Ms. Weaver, combining folk influence and quirkiness. Weaver has performed the Bartok "Concerto for Orchestra," playing the jocular snare drum solo, and the Bartok "Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion."  Weaver's research will focus on Bartok's compositional style and will culminate in a formal analysis of the pieces and a comprehensive research paper.
